A $50,000 cash only bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly raped a teen girl in August or September.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond for Christopher Pridgeon, 28, and also ordered Pridgeon to have no contact with either the girl or another female until the case is settled.

Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said Pridgeon, who is on probation and in drug court, allegedly picked up two 16-year-old girls late in the evening and drove them to an unknown address, where he took the victim into a bedroom.

Detective Steven Rucker reported that the girl told police Pridgeon told her to take her pants off, and when she refused, he slapped her several times before pulling her pants off and having sex with her.

Kizer said Pridgeon allegedly slapped the victim several more times after she refused to have sex with a him a second time.

In addition to being on probation, Kizer said Pridgeon had a long list of failure to appear charges from Pine Bluff District Court and other places.

Kearney appointed the Public Defenderís Office to represent Pridgeon, and told him to come back to court Jan. 18 at 9 a.m.
