WHITE HALL – Mayor Noel Foster in his annual State of the City address before the City Council Tuesday night said he was pleased to report “that our city is strong and our future is bright.”

During the past year, he noted, the city contracted with United Water Arkansas to provide White Hall’s water supply.

He praised the municipality’s public safety departments and municipal employees for their contributions.

The Advertising & Promotion Commission is preparing to conduct written and online surveys on what residents want in the community center the city is planning to build, Foster said.

During Tuesday’s meeting aldermen approved the purchase of a tract off Sheridan Road for construction of a second fire station and authorized several amendments to the 2011 municipal budget.
