STAR CITY Ava Fish Halbert, 100, of Star City, died Friday in Little Rock. She was born June 23, 1912, in Lincoln County to the late Samual Jason and Martha Virginia Gammill Fish. She was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University in 1935. She was a retired school teacher, having worked at Star City Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Star City, and had played the piano or organ for 83 years.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Rupert Halbert; one sister, Miss Ruby Fish; five brothers, Clyde E. Fish, Lee C. Fish, Curtis W. Fish, Roy J. Fish, Ray L. Fish.

Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Kirby and husband Ben of Little Rock, Judy Leagans and husband Ellis of Arkadelphia, Sammye Fuller and husband Bill of Little Rock; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Star City. Burial will be in Leek Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Kirby, Jodie Dildy, Matthew McCrary, Tad Hardin, Matt Fuller and Lee Fuller.
