El Dorado — Mr. Billy John "Bill" Moudy, 78, of El Dorado went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family Sunday, February 24, 2013. He was born March 7, 1934, to Roscoe and Addie Robinson Moudy in Scranton, Ark.
El Dorado — Mr. Billy John “Bill” Moudy, 78, of El Dorado went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family Sunday, February 24, 2013. He was born March 7, 1934, to Roscoe and Addie Robinson Moudy in Scranton, Ark.
He was a devoted family man, an ordained deacon for 55 years and served at Immanuel Baptist Church, and taught youth Sunday School for many years. Bill never passed up an opportunity to give his testimony.
In 1969, he joined Union County Mounted Patrol. He was a charter member of the Union County Sheriff’s Office Reserve in 1972 until his retirement in 2010. Bill also worked as a sales representative for Union Tire Company for many years. He enjoyed showing his Tennessee Walking Horses, team penning, hunting, fishing, and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kathy Morrison Moudy; two sons, Johnny Moudy, Billy Bob Moudy (Lorrie) all of El Dorado; two daughters, Pam Nevels (Glen) of White Hall, Ark. Vickie Walker (Ken) of Bryant, Ark., one sister, Louise Hayes of Morrilton, Ark., two sister-in-laws, Jean Moudy of Danville, Ark., Laymone Moudy of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren, Chad Nevels (Lydia), Amy Rogers (Ford), Leslie Blankenship (Brian), Drake and Dawson Moudy, Landon Moudy; and five great grandchildren, Jamie, John, Lydia, and Luke Nevels, and Annabelle Rogers.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, at Immanuel Baptist under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
