WHITE HALL Buck Garner Tooke, 96, a resident of White Hall, died Monday, December 26, 2011, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 13, 1915, in Herbine, he was a son of Clyde E. and Myrtle Byrd Tooke.

Mr. Tooke was reared and received his early education in Gravel Ridge, attending Gravel Ridge Schools. Buck Garner Tooke married Geraldine Faver on May 23, 1936, in Rowell. Mrs. Tooke preceded him in death on October 17, 1997. Mr. Tooke was a longtime driver for Auto Transport Service in Louisville, Ky. He was also a long distance driver for Central Moloney for 14 years, retiring in 1974.

Mr. Tooke was a member of Central Baptist Church, a member of the benevolence committee, and the Cotton Pickers Campers Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping.

Mr. Tooke was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, one sister, and two brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Tooke of Pine Bluff, and Ray Tooke of White Hall; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Clyde Tooke of Star City.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Ralph Robinson & Son.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson with Rev. Allen Elkins officiating.

Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.
