Charles Morgan Farrer, age 79, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011.

He was born in the Cardon Bottom community near Casa, Ark. on September 1, 1932, a son of the late Walter Franklin Farrer and Doris Mae Magness Farrer. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Farrer was a member of the Church of Christ and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4455. He worked as a truck driver and mechanic, and retired from Harold Ives Trucking in 1993.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Lois Lee Kirkpatrick Farrer in 1961 and Lois Jean Bell Farrer in 2001; a daughter, Charlotte Lee Farrer; and three brothers, Hoy Farrer, Therron Farrer, and J.W. Farrer.

Survivors include his children, Joan Farrer-Newby, Steve Farrer, Sherry Farrer Barnes, and Carol Ledesma; two brothers, Vane Farrer, and Bobby Farrer; a sister, Geraldine Wallace; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel, with Brother Don Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
