STAR CITY — Mr. Clinton D. "Butch" Riley, 64, of Star City, died Wednesday at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born September 2, 1948, in Bastrop, La., to Ruby Ashley Riley and the late Clinton Riley.
STAR CITY — Mr. Clinton D. “Butch” Riley, 64, of Star City, died Wednesday at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born September 2, 1948, in Bastrop, La., to Ruby Ashley Riley and the late Clinton Riley.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Star City, where he was a former youth leader, served in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy, was a millwright for International Paper Co., member of International Paper Quarter Century Club, a former scout master and member of Star City Men’s Club, where he was a youth baseball coach. He loved the LSU Tigers and watching rodeo.
Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by a daughter; Amanda Ruth Riley.
Survivors include his wife; Deborah Reynolds Riley of Star City, his mother; Ruby Riley of West Memphis, two sons; Clayton Riley (Holly) of Woodlawn and Jonathan Riley (Stefanie) of Star City, one brother; William G. Riley of Wynne, two sisters; Susie Riley Platt of Vilonia and Lisa Riley Adams of West Memphis, and two grandchildren; Logan Taylor Riley and Gracie Ruth Riley.
Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bryan Diffee and Bro. John Shafer officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial at Holly Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Youth Fund.
The family will be at the home of Jonathan Riley at 307 Lavender Rd., Star City, AR 71667.
