Mr. David Wayne "Catfish" Alverson, 56, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. David Wayne “Catfish” Alverson, 56, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born December 20, 1956, in Pine Bluff, he was a son of Bobby and LutaB Young Alverson.
Mr. Alverson was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff. He was a Grader Operator for the Arkansas State Highway Department for 25 years. Mr. Alverson was also an avid commercial fisherman, following in his father’s footsteps.
Mr. Alverson was preceded in death by his parents; his ex-wife, Wanda Alverson.
Survivors include his fiancé, Stacy Garriason of Pine Bluff; four sons, Jason Alverson of Pine Bluff, Chad Thompson and Jake Vendable of Star City, and Bo Woodard of Louisiana; three daughters, Brandy Ashcraft of Rye, Mandy Alverson of Pine Bluff, and Mandy Chadwick of Glendale; several grandchildren; three brothers, Sammy Alverson of White Hall, Greg Alverson of Pine Bluff, and Johnny Alverson and wife Kay of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Carolyn Jackson of Pine Bluff, and Brenda Hall of Watson Chapel.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be during the visitation with Reverend Sammy Alverson and Reverend Gilbert Byrd officiating. Ralph Robinson & Son is in charge of cremation.
