STAR CITY — Donald Lee Humphrey, 72, of Star City, formerly of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at his home.

STAR CITY — Donald Lee Humphrey, 72, of Star City, formerly of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at his home.

Born October 20, 1939, in Earle, Ark., he was a son of the late William Melvin Humphrey, Sr. and the late Mary Louise Watson Humphrey.

He was reared and received his education in Grady, Ark., attending Grady Schools. He served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Humphrey was a contract painter for most of his adult life, working for many people painting homes and businesses. He was a Baptist and loved his family, enjoying every minute spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Ronald, James, Phillip and Robert Humphrey and one sister, Nancy Barnes.

He is survived by his children, three sons, Philip Alan Humphrey, of Star City, William “Bubba” Humphrey, of Pine Bluff, Richard Humphrey, of Georgia and one daughter, Toni Bryant, of Jasper, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Alison, P.J. and Hannah Humphrey and Matthew Humphrey; three brothers, William Melvin Humphrey, Jr., Bobby Joe Humphrey and David Humphrey; six sisters, Dorothy Aekin, Joann Sprague, Patsy Humphrey, Helen Tuttle, Beverly Haller and Verna Cipola; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home with (Uncle) Brother Aaron Burns officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may sign the online register at www.ralphrobinsonandson.com.
