Helen Marice Jacks Flumm, age 87, of Pine Bluff died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at her home in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Helen Marice Jacks Flumm, age 87, of Pine Bluff died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at her home in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Helen was born July 22, 1924 in Calmer, Cleveland County, Ark. She was the daughter of the late William Thad and Tulyer Elizabeth Reed Jacks.

Helen received her education at Woodlawn, Ark. and graduated from Woodlawn High School. She was a certified welder and worked in the California shipyards prior to meeting and marrying her husband, George Harrison Flumm, in Reno, Nev. on January 14, 1945. Upon returning to Pine Bluff, Ark., she worked at Ben Pearson welding cotton pickers and then continued her education to become a certified beautician.

Helen was preceded in death by nine Jacks brothers (Calvin, Clyde, Tom, Terrell “Dick”, Jim, Raymond, Morris, Glen and Harold) and four Jacks sisters (Jenny Bell Linzy, Beulah Anderson, Lucille Johnson and her twin sister Ellen Marie Cole).

Helen is survived by her husband, Mr. George Harrison Flumm, her two sons, George Michel “Mike” (Maretta) Flumm and Ricky Lyn Flumm; grandchildren, Angela Flumm (Theodis) Smith, Danielle Flumm (Jason) Conner, Kristian Flumm Tipton, Justin (Brooke) Flumm and Trenton Flumm; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, and Cody Conner, Haley and Tyler Tipton, and Castin and Carter Flumm; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was cared for by the Hospice Angels and all her caregivers for whom the family is grateful.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2011, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Dr. Roger Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Ralph Robinson’s from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011.
