Imogene Harper Courtney, age 86, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, May 6, 2013.

Imogene Harper Courtney, age 86, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, May 6, 2013.

She was born May 2, 1927 at Kedron (Cleveland County), a daughter of the late Hill Harper and Ada Hobson Harper, and graduated from Rison High School.

For a number of years, she worked as a secretary for International Paper Company and the Cotton Belt Railroad.

For many years, Mrs. Courtney was an active member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church, and was a member of the Gloryland Singers. She loved children and gave piano lessons in her home.

Predeceasing her are her husband, Calvin Courtney: and her brothers, Hughey Harper, Harland Harper. Havis Harper, and Herbert Harper.

Survivors include a sister, Juanita Harper Calhoun (Joe) of White Hall; along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Howard Loestcher officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Kedron.
