Lucy Marks, 88, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Trinity Village Medical Center.

Lucy Marks, 88, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Trinity Village Medical Center.

Born May 18, 1924, in Kingsland, she was a daughter of William Wallace and Margaret Lee “Maggie” Easterling Mitchell.

Mrs. Marks was reared and received her early education in Kingsland, graduating from Kingsland High School in 1941. Mary Lucy Mitchell married Clyde Davis Marks, Sr. on May 21, 1943, in Kingsland. They moved to Pine Bluff later in 1943. Mrs. Marks was a homemaker, a member of Carr Memorial United Methodist Church, and later a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Marks was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Sue Colvin of Pine Bluff; one son, Clyde Marks, Jr. of Kingsland, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation but Mrs. Marks will lie in state Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2012, in Marks Cemetery near Kingsland, with Reverend Fred Arnold officiating and under the direction of Ralph Robinson & Son.
