STAR CITY Beatta Vey Scott, eldest daughter of Enoch Leo Scott and Roberta Bulkley Scott, born August 17, 1926, passed away on February 19, 2012. Beatta graduated from Grady High School and went to a two year business college in Little Rock. Beatta was employed in the banking industry and after retiring she worked for Wal-Mart another 11 years.

Beatta graduated from Grady High School and went to a two year business college in Little Rock. Beatta was employed in the banking industry and after retiring she worked for Wal-Mart another 11 years.

Besides her parents, Beatta was preceded by two husbands; W.H. Atkins and M.D. Ring.

Beatta is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Suit of White Hall and Beatta Vey Birdsong of Gilbert, S.C.; two brothers, Reginald Scott of Ft. Leonardwood, Mo. and Laron Scott of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Twyla Scott of Yorktown and Kaye McNeil of Greenbrier; four grandchildren, Renee Herring, Michele Berry, Steven Suit and Robby Birdsong; seven great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local animal shelter or wildlife preservation.
