DUMAS — Mr. Benjamin F. Tatum, 73 of Dumas passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Delta Memorial Hospital in Dumas.

Born May 22, 1938 in Star City, he was a son of the late Elder E.C. and Lubertha (Jones) Tatum, Sr. He was a member of East Side Deliverance C.O.G.I.C. where he served as a deacon and retired owner/operator of Tatum’s cleaners. Survivors include one daughter, Velma Tatum of Dallas, Texas, five brothers, Alton Tatum, Elder E.C. Tatum, Jr., Tucker Tatum, Minister Dean Tatum all of Dumas, Dr. Glenn Tatum of Dallas, Texas, eight sisters, Sarah Taylor of Dumas, Helen Barge, Martha Walton, Burnett Tatum, Patsy Bolden, Brenda Tatum all of Dallas, Texas, Georgia Young, Dorothy Carpenter both of St. Louis, Mo.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Hunt Memorial C.O.G.I.C. in Dumas with Dr. Glenn Tatum officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas. Visitations will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The body will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
