DUMAS — Dr. Alice Margaret Kinlow Hunt-Tatum, a resident of Dumas, Ark., died Sunday February 19, 2012. She was born August 17, 1934 in Dumas, Ark., to the late Ezra Dewitt and Mary Kinlow.

DUMAS — Dr. Alice Margaret Kinlow Hunt-Tatum, a resident of Dumas, Ark., died Sunday February 19, 2012. She was born August 17, 1934 in Dumas, Ark., to the late Ezra Dewitt and Mary Kinlow.

Alice Margaret Hunt-Tatum lived a very full and meaningful life, she was active in the community for years in the Delta Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the West Dumas Community Family Life Center, State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, numerous boards and affiliations. During her early years, she was a licensed cosmetologist and owner/operator of Alice’s Beauty Shop.

Later in her career she became a leading voice in her local, state and national church community, where she served with her first husband, Dr. A.L. Hunt, Sr., at HMC-Hunt Memorial Cathedral of Faith, (formerly known as West Dumas COGIC), the First Church of God and Christ in McGehee and the Abundant Life Church in Pine Bluff. Together they mentored and developed hundreds of leaders in ministry who are serving throughout the state and nation. At the time of her death, she served as Executive Pastor at HMC alongside her son, Senior Pastor, Arthur L. Hunt, Jr. D.D.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and one daughter, Lawana Hunt-Walker. She is survived her husband, Alton Tatum, eight birth children plus three by special adoption, Linda Hunt Rogers(James), Marilyn Hunt, Alice McGehee(Robert), Arthur L. Hunt Jr.,(Blanche), Janice Harris(Cornell), Attrice Hunt, Gloria Seals(Paxton) and Marquis Hunt(Ingrid), Ulysses Walker, Sheryl Banks(Craig), Dorothy Welch-Watson and Abel James; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; six siblings, Samuel Kinlow, Alma Robinson, Ezra Kinlow, Eugene Kinlow, Jerilean Brewer, Yvonne Corbin and their posterity.

Homegoing services will be Monday morning, February 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the HMC-Hunt Memorial Cathedral of faith located at 228 S. Walnut in Dumas, Arkansas. A memorial service will be Sunday evening, February 26, 2012 from 5-7 p.m.
