CROSSETT Elmer Lee Sidney Perkins, age 85, of Crossett, Ark. passed away February 14, 2012 at Pinewood Health in Crossett, Ark. He was born July 23, 1926 in Russellville, Ark. to Cullen S. and Ola Mae Allen Perkins. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and was a Baptist. Mr. Perkins was a retired farmer, ginner and a World War II Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Bell Perkins whom he married in 1950; daughter, Vickie Reams; brother; James Perkins and a sister; Audrey Alice Halford. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Rice of Pine Bluff, Ark., Teresa Slack of Crossett, Ark., Wilma Wooten of Tennessee; sister, Betty Streng of Crossett, Ark.; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com) Mr. Perkins will be cremated. No public services are planned.
