WOODSON— Jeraldean Poe "Sweet Pea" Freeman, 73, of Woodson, died March 17, 2012 at her home will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 24100 North Barton Street, Woodson, Ark., Bishop Jewel Withers Sr. officiating.
WOODSON— Jeraldean Poe “Sweet Pea” Freeman, 73, of Woodson, died March 17, 2012 at her home will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 24100 North Barton Street, Woodson, Ark., Bishop Jewel Withers Sr. officiating.
She was born January 7, 1939, in Woodson, daughter of the late Joe H. and Ardee Walls Poe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thornton Freeman, sister Dorothy J. Poe.
At an early age she joined Woodson Temple Church of God In Christ. She was a licensed Missionary in the First Jurisdiction of Arkansas. She served in her local church as President of the Bible Band, Church Mother, program chairman, District Sunday School chair, Administrator to District Missionary. She had a prison and nursing home evangelism. Woodson community choir was formed under her leadership.
Survivors: three daughters, Cynthia (Phillip) Austin, Malessia Poe, Bridgette Tatum all of Little Rock; four sons, Ronald (Doris) Poe, Reginald Poe, Joey McDaniel, Lawrence (Sherrie) Baker Jr., all of Little Rock; 21 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and cousins.
Visitation may be made from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Woodson Temple Church of God in Christ, 7801 Woodson lateral Street, Woodson, Ark.
Burial will be in Woodson Cemetery in Woodson by Perry Funeral Home.
