Margaret Louise Rhodes, age 90, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

Margaret Louise Rhodes, age 90, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

Born May 22, 1922 at Fordyce, Mrs. Rhodes was a daughter of the late Willie Lee Bethea and Sudie Belle White Bethea, and graduated from Rison High School. During World War II, she worked in the munitions department at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. She retired from Ben Pearson Archery, where she had worked in the fletching and packing departments.

Mrs. Rhodes was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, and held various offices in her own class. She especially enjoyed hosting their monthly class meetings, and was a member of the Strumming Seniors Ukulele Band.

She was preceded in death on April 27, 1993 by her husband of over 50 years, Joe B. Rhodes; two brothers, Jack Bethea and Bill Bethea; and two sisters, Maurine Green and Patsy Sandine.

Her survivors include three daughters, Hilda Rauls (Marvin) of Woodlawn, and Margaret Bush (David) and Linda Walter (Danny), all of Pine Bluff; a sister, Georgia Jenkins of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; seven step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at 1:30 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel. Dr. Don Taylor and Brother Doney Blackerby will officiate, and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
