Mattie Marie Clement died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center at the age of 92. Marie was born January 9, 1920, at her parents home in Southeast Grant County. Marie received her schooling at the Cedar Branch and Watson Chapel schools.

Mattie Marie Clement died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center at the age of 92. Marie was born January 9, 1920, at her parents home in Southeast Grant County. Marie received her schooling at the Cedar Branch and Watson Chapel schools.

She worked for years at Arthurís Bar B Q restaurant and made up the classified page in the Pine Bluff Commercial.

She married Noah D. Clement and mothered one child, Frances Dee. Marie cared faithfully for this invalid child for sixty seven years. She was baptized as one of Jehovahís witnesses in 1950, at a convention in New York City along with thirty three hundred eighty one others. Marie faithfully served her God, Jehovah and looked forward to the rule of his son, Jesus Christ, over the earth where peace, happiness and perfect health will be enjoyed by all forever.

Survivors include one sister, RuBetty Copeland; two brothers, Charles and Sterling Goldman.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, in Providence Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son with Brother Donny Randle officiating. A memorial service will be at the Jehovahís Witness Kingdom Hall in Pine Bluff at a later date.
