WHITE HALL ó Roy E. Wilson, age 83, of White Hall, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Wilson was born April 9, 1928, in Helena, Ark., a son of the late Ruben G. and Jonni Wilson.

WHITE HALL ó Roy E. Wilson, age 83, of White Hall, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Wilson was born April 9, 1928, in Helena, Ark., a son of the late Ruben G. and Jonni Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was reared and received his education in Elaine, Ark. and Long Beach, Calif., graduating from Long Beach High School. Upon graduation from high school, Mr. Wilson joined the U.S. Navy serving in both World War II and Korea.

He moved to Pine Bluff in 1958, and began working for International Paper Company (now Evergreen), retiring in 1987 as Turbine Operator and Supervisor.

He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and member and past master of Quapaw Lodge #730 F&AM and the Quarter Century and Supervisor Clubs at the paper company.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Ann Slaughter Wilson, whom he married February 23, 2002, in White Hall; son Paul E. Wilson of Pine Bluff; step-daughter, Lisa D. Bellomy and her husband, Michael, of Sheridan; two grandchildren, Erick and Candy Cody, great-grandchild, Ayden Lain, all of White Hall.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011, in Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. M. L. Faler officiating.

Burial will be in New Home Cemetery near Glendale.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Robinsonís Tuesday evening
