Editor, The Commercial:

The Seventh Old Towne Christmas, “Christmas in Paradise”, a project of the Old Towne Committee for Reinventing Downtown, was held on December 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center.

Over 600 children and adults attended the wonderful Christmas festival that the committee tirelessly planned for our community. Everyone that attended enjoyed the free entertainment, games, food, the magician, the balloon artist, hay rides, the bounce house, Christmas stories with Mrs. Santa Claus, “One Starry, Starry Night” presented by First United Methodist Church, and a special visit with Santa Claus that came with a holiday gift for each child.

The festive atmosphere was abound in the entire community center and made everyone aware of the importance of this holiday season. My special thanks is given to the committee, chaired by Ebony Anderson, the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department; the Pine Bluff Police and Fire Departments, the agencies located in the Reynolds Center including the United Way. Many thanks, also, to the funding sponsors that include the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation and the Pine Bluff Festival Association, and to Fairfield Federal Credit Union and ALL the volunteers. You are appreciated!
