MONTICELLO — Increasing full-court pressure paid off for Drew Central’s boys team against Hamburg on Tuesday night, as the Pirates picked up a 64-54 win. Drew Central outscored Hamburg 26-13 in the fourth quarter.

“We picked up the press in the fourth quarter and forced a lot of turnovers,” Drew Central coach Larry Harris said.

Dominique Harris led the Pirates (5-0) with 20 points, as Damarius Thomas (16 points), Chris Robinson (11) and Jerelle Binns (10) also scored in double-figures.


Dollarway 52,

Sheridan 35

At home Tuesday, Trevon King led the Cardinals with 20 points, Kendrick Hunter added 14 and Cameron Girley scored eight.

Dollarway (3-3) held Sheridan to single-digit scoring the first through third quarters, outscoring the Yellowjackets 16-4 in the third.

Watson Chapel 58,

Camden Fairview 55

On Monday the Wildcats improved to 2-3 as three players scored in double-digits to lead Watson Chapel. Kyran Thomas led the way with 15 points, as Leonard Robinson (14 points) and Baetreon Lindsey (11) also went over the 10-point mark.

The Watson Chapel eighth-grade team also won Monday night, 27-17, behind Colin McNulty’s nine points.

Jack Robey 49,

Stuttgart 18

John Tate (12 points) led a balanced scoring attack for the Colts in the blowout over the Ricebirds on Monday night. Keuntaye Crump (9) and Jalen Johnson (7) were the next leading scorers for Jack Robey.

The Colts improved to 6-1 with the victory. Next for Jack Robey is a 5:30 p.m. Monday road game against Helena-West Helena.

Camden Fairview 34

Lauren McCullough led the Lady Wildcats (2-1) to victory over the Cardinals on Monday night. Megan Moore added 14 points and Kylyn Kemp added 11.

Watson Chapel’s eighth-grade girls team also won Monday against Camden Fairview, 33-32 in an overtime decision.
