At Hill-Alford Field, the Pine Bluff Fillies rolled over the Little Rock Fair Lady Eagles on Thursday in a softball doubleheader.

At Hill-Alford Field, the Pine Bluff Fillies rolled over the Little Rock Fair Lady Eagles on Thursday in a softball doubleheader.

Pine Bluff (2-3 in 7A/6A-South) defeated Fair 20-2 in the first game in three innings, and 19-4 in the second game in four innings.

Cessiley Johnson was the winning pitcher for the first game.

Jada Taylor had a huge day for the Fillies. She was 4 for 5 at the plate with a triple and a monstrous two-run home run. Taylor was also the winning pitcher in the second game. Also, Amber McDonald was 2-2, Tezera Collins 2-3, and Star Wivers had three hits on the evening.

The Fillies face El Dorado at home on Tuesday.

Sheridan 11, Bryant 2

BRYANT — The Lady Jackets improved to 9-1 and 4-0 in the 7A/6A-South.

Alyson Stipes lead the Lady Jackets going 4 for 4. Hunter Clark was 2 for 5 with a run scored, three RBIs, and a home run.

Olivia Reed received the win, allowing only seven hits. Reed not only dominated the mound but the plate as well. She was 2 for 4 with a home run.

Morgan Cotton and Tiffany Easter also were 2 for 4 on the day, Cotton with three RBIs. The Lady Jackets will play at Van Buren at 5 p.m. today.

Woodlawn 8, Rison 2

RISON — The Lady Bears knocked off the Lady Wildcats to improve their record in the 7-2A East Conference to 6-1.

The Lady Bears’ leadoff and No. 2 hitters each played key roles in the victory. Maddieson Stewart was 1 for 2 on the day with two runs scored. Hannah Gavin also got into the mix going 1 for 2 with three runs scored.

Lilly Henderson earned the win. She went seven innings, had three strikeouts, and gave up only four hits.

The Lady Bears’ next conference game is Saturday at noon at Norphlet.


McGehee 13, Drew Central 12

MONTICELLO — McGehee (3-4, 1-0 in 8-3A) stole home on a passed ball in the top of the seventh to take the lead.

Drew Central (0-2 in 8-3A) attempted to tie on a similar play in the bottom of the inning, but was tagged for the final out to end it.

For McGehee, Dereck Bates and Logan French each went 2 for 3 and Michael Risner was 2 for 4. Risner went three innings, striking out six.

Bryant 7, Sheridan 2

BRYANT — The Yellowjackets (7-2) received their second loss of the season against Bryant on Thursday.

Evan Thompson, who went 1 for 3, got things started in the first inning for the Yellowjackets. Thompson had a base hit up the middle to drive in Tadd Daggett.

Bryant answered with a run of its own in the first and another in the second off errors. The Hornets then added two more in the fourth.

Sheridan had 5 errors on the evening.

Wyatt Daggett was charged with the loss, after only giving up one earned run.
