WHITE HALL — On the first day of the high school baseball season, Lake Hamilton beat White Hall 4-2 on Monday.

Pierce Sloan got the opening-season start for White Hall (0-1) and went five innings and gave up four runs in the loss.

Tyler Carr pitched the final two innings in relief. Landon Reed led the Bulldogs’ offense with two hits.

White Hall plays Saturday at a tournament in Sheridan. The Bulldogs’ first game is at 1:30 against Wynne, and then they play Hot-Springs-Lakeside following their first game.

Bryant 10, Pine Bluff 0

BRYANT — Pine Bluff was shut out 10-0 by Bryant in five innings to open the season.

The Zebras (0-1) were held to one hit in the game, which came in the third inning on Kendrick Bullard’s infield single. Dylan Cross started the game for Bryant.

Ryan Green took the mound for Pine Bluff and he went the first three innings. Demetruis Anderson followed with 1/3 of an inning in relief and Larry Williams pitched the final 1 2/3 innings.

Pine Bluff plays at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Star City.

Woodlawn 13, Rison 1

RISON — Woodlawn came away with a season-opening 13-1 win in five innings over Rison.

Gavin Johnston started for Woodlawn (1-0) and he pitched three hitless innings and gave up four walks while striking out five batters. Brett Boyd pitched the final two innings for Woodlawn.

Johnston also went 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Dillon Miller also had two hits for Woodlawn.

For Rison (0-1), Will Jacobs pitched three innings, and Nick Hesley and Dustin Des each had a hit.

Woodlawn plays at 4:30 p.m. today at Smackover
