Saturday, Dec. 29

1:30 pm Feed the Critters (30 minutes) Ever wonder how or what an alligator or turtle eats? Well, itís dinner time and the critters are hungry! Come watch their eating habits and learn all about the animals here at Cane Creek State Park. Meeting place: Visitor Center

2 pm Afternoon Kayak Tour (2 hours) Spend a relaxing afternoon paddling your very own kayak around Cane Creek Lake. Enjoy the beautiful scenery while you discover nature all around you. A park interpreter will lead this guided tour. kayaks, paddles, and lifejackets are provided. Space is limited, and reservations are required. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12ómust be over 10 to paddle alone. Meeting place: Visitor Center

Sunday, Dec. 30

3 pm Dutch Oven Dessert & Family Game Night (1 hour) You are invited to a dessert and game night. A Dutch oven demonstration making a dessert will be given by Park Interpreter Geoff. Plates, napkins and silverware will be provided. Meeting place: Visitor Center

Tuesday, Jan. 1

2 pm First Day Hike(2 hours) People all over America are celebrating the new year today with a First Day Hike. Join Park Interpreter Geoff to hike the 2.4-mile Delta View Trail. Enjoy striking views of Cane Creek Lake, the Mississippi Delta, and the timberlands of the Gulf Coastal Plain. Wear sturdy shoes, and bring water, and binoculars if you have them.
