Aldermen had lean agenda for Monday’s White Hall City Council meeting and spent a large portion of their time praising the 5A state championships posted by the White Hall High School’s boys baseball team Friday in a 4-2 victory over Watson Chapel and the Lady Bulldogs softball team defeating Vilonia by a 5-2 margin on Saturday.

Mayor Noel Foster told aldermen that “literally busloads of kids” have spent time in City Park in recent weeks, adding that public works employees have upgraded playground equipment.

City employees have been busy mowing city parks and roadway right-of-way, he noted, and Fire Marshal Bill Beadle recently inspected 14 businesses as part of a fire prevention effort.

Foster reminded the council that the Advertising and Promotion Commission would meet on Tuesday, the annual Memorial Day ceremony would be held Monday at the White Hall Museum, the Street, Water and Sewer committee would meet June 5 and the Planning Commission would meet June 11.
