REDFIELD — Two men who contributed to the development of Redfield's F.P. Baugh Park were honored Friday afternoon when fishing piers on the park's two watershed lakes were named in their honor.

REDFIELD — Two men who contributed to the development of Redfield’s F.P. Baugh Park were honored Friday afternoon when fishing piers on the park’s two watershed lakes were named in their honor.

Both piers are handicapped accessible and were constructed with $70,000 in Arkansas Game and Fish Commission grant monies and $13,000 in matching municipal in-kind services.

The pier for the southern lake, which covers 10.3 acres, was named in honor of the late George Sanders, former mayor. He served his community on the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years, served two terms on the Redfield City Council and was mayor from 2007-2010.

The pier for the northern lake was dedicated to John Cunningham, who with Baugh donated land for the 57 acre park. The
