A car and an SUV collided on Sheridan Road at its intersection with Heartwood, Patrolman Dustin E. Summers wrote in an accident report.

The officer quoted Carol A. Ross of 3310 Reynolds, Redfield, as saying she was westbound on Sheridan in a 2000 Mazda Protégé and slowing to make a right turn when the car was struck from behind by a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Betty M. Noel of 2410 McConnell Circle, Pine Bluff.

Noel told the officer she was also westbound and did not notice the car was slowing.

Jan. 12

A 2009 Honda Fit sustained an estimated $6,000 in damage after Jonathon A. Dixon of 2505 Claud Road, White Hall, swerved to avoid a dog on Claud, lost control and struck a fence and a natural gas meter, according to Patrolman Brian R. Hornsby.

Hornsby’s report indicated Dixon was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries.

The car struck a chain link fence at 1810 Claud and the CenterPoint Energy gas meter at 1808 Claud, the officer said.

— A parked and unoccupied Honda Accord owned by Billy Joe Hulse Jr., 510 Carter St., White Hall, was damaged when it was struck by a second vehicle on the parking lot of Maxey’s Barber Shop, 8005 Dollarway Road, Patrolman Brian R. Hornsby wrote in an accident report.

Hornsby quoted Patricia L. Blackford of 1508 Belmont Drive, Pine Bluff, as saying she was backing her 1996 Buick Century out of a parking space at the barber shop and struck the right rear of the Honda.

— Patrolman Dustin E. Summers said the driver a westbound 1999 Dodge Intrepid lost control of the vehicle in the 600 block of W. Holland Ave. and struck a roadside mailbox.

Julia M. Hula of 1027 Bass Road, White Hall, was quoted as saying she struck a patch of ice before hitting the mailbox of Vicky Graves, 612 W. Holland.

Jan. 17

Travis E. Johnson of 6801 Briarwood Drive, Pine Bluff, told Patrolman Mike Monk he was eastbound on Arkansas 256 just west of Bulldog Drive when two deer ran in front of his 2003 Buick Century and a third deer struck the right side of the car, causing estimated $1,000 damage.
