An SUV and pickup truck collided at the intersections of Dollarway and Hoadley roads, Patrolman Celena G. Harbison said, when the 1996 Chevrolet Silverado stuck the rear of a 2008 Toyota 4Runner that had stopped for the traffic light.

William T. Milligan of 109 E. Holland Ave., White Hall, was quoted by the investigating officer as saying the anti-lock brake system on the truck locked up and he slid into the rear of the southbound SUV driven by Barbara Fuller of 1403 McGhee, White Hall.

Buford M. Green of 305 Green Ave., White Hall, told Patrolman Brian Hornsby his 2001 Nissan Frontier pickup truck was damaged earlier in the day on a parking lot in the city.

Green was quoted as saying he drove his wife to a physician’s office for an appointment and they later stopped at a fast food restaurant to eat, adding he discovered damage to the right rear bumper of the truck after returning home.

» Two vehicles collided in a drive-through lane at the Simmons First National Bank branch, 8107 Dollarway Road, according to a report filed by Patrolman Brent Bridges.

The officer quoted Susie Sanders of 2404 McConnell Circle, Pine Bluff, as saying she began backing her 2006 Jeep Commander while in the line and backed into a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Ashley Spears of 11 Red Oak, Monticello, who was in the line.

» Two drivers and the three passengers escaped injury when two cars collided in the 8600 block of Dollarway Road, Sgt. Greg Moody said.

The officer said Courtney Harp of 13688 Dollarway was northbound in a 2008 Honda Accord when Karie A. Freeman of 130 Timber Lane, White Hall, drove a 2006 Toyota Corolla from a parking lot into the path of the Harp vehicle.

Calvin Curtis Crutchfield, 30, of 114 Huckleberry Lane, Sheridan, was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicants, Patrolman Stephen Moreau wrote in his report, after officers received a report of a pickup truck being driven in an erratic manner on Jefferson Parkway between Dollarway and Sheridan roads.

Moreau said he approached Crutchfield, driver of the truck, after it stopped at a business on Sheridan, and administered several field sobriety tests, which the driver failed.

Crutchfield was arrested for DWI after taking a Breathalyzer test at the police station, Moreau wrote in his report.

» Firemen were dispatched to the Sherri Cone residence, 912 West St., at 9:09 a.m. when the occupant observed smoke coming from the top of the television set in the living room. She said she called the fire department and then unplugged the set.

Firemen moved the set outside the residence.

» At 7:50 p.m. firemen were dispatched to a fire alarm at 1600 Oak Hill Drive. The alarm company notified firemen the occupant of the residence had triggered the alarm by accident and there was no fire.

» Firemen responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Interstate 530 at Exit 34 at 6:02 p.m. White Hall police located the vehicle at Exit 35 and reported there was no fire, canceling the response.

» Firemen were dispatched to the Wed Faculty residence, 142 W. Little Lane, at 8:59 p.m. in response to a report of a clothes dryer on fire in the laundry room. Firemen removed the dryer from the residence.
