This summer in Durham, North Carolina, at the 2017 Basketball Camp at Duke University, Pine Bluff senior D'Vonte Jackson was escorted to a private room and greeted by the man behind the success of the Duke Blue Devils basketball team, coach Mike Krzyzewski, also known as Coach K.

Jackson is a 6-foot 4-inch senior at Pine Bluff High School, an honor student, a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Gentlemen's Club. He is a member of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church and plays AAU basketball for the JW Warriors.

On June 24-28, Jackson was in attendance at the Duke Basketball Camp and participated in numerous basketball drills, combine athletic testing, agility drills, three point shooting contest, free throw shooting contest and live scrimmage games.

Jackson came in first place in several of the agility drills and was the leading scorer in several scrimmage games. Jackson described his week at the camp as outstanding, exciting, hard work and a great learning experience.

When Jackson was asked about his most memorable moment of the camp, he replied, "When I was escorted to a private room where I was greeted by Coach K. and he said to me, 'I saw your games and I was impressed with what I saw.' That was priceless.”
