ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball second baseman Andres Rios has been selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-American Honorable Mention Team, according to a news release.

Rios, a senior from San Diego, California, earned the All-American nod after being selected as a First Team member of the NCBWA All-Central Region Team earlier this month. He has also received First Team All-Central Region picks from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) after this stellar 2018 season.

Andres was a First Team All-GAC selection as well, after finishing fifth in the conference in runs batted in with 52, sixth in runs scored with 52, and seventh overall in total hits with 68 this year.

Rios also was second overall on UAM in batting average at .354, and finished the season with nine total home runs, along with a .578 slugging percentage.
