The Billies stayed undfeated in 8-4A Conference play with a 59-28 victory over the Lumberjacks on Tuesday night.


Monticello and Warren were tied 9-9 at the end of the first quarter, but the Billies pulled ahead 27-18 at halftime and led 44-25 heading into the fourth.


Chris Robertson (16) and D.J. Frankin (15) led the way for Monticello (16-3, 9-0 in 8-4A).


Darveon Brown finished with 10 points for Warren (6-5, 6-3).


McGehee 87, Smackover 65


McGEHEE — The Owls stayed perfect on the season with an impressive offensive performance on Tuesday night.


McGehee held quarter leads of 26-10, 49-26 and 70-42.


Tracy Lawson led the Owls (13-0, 6-0 in 8-3A Conference) with 21 points, while Trevon Spratt (13) and Kieanis Henry (10) also reached double-figures. Evander Bailey and Davondrick Lison added nine and eight points, respectively.


Elmo Hempstead led the Buckaroos (2-4 in conference) with a game-high 26 points. Jordan Jones finished with 23 points and Logan Clark added 12.


Camden Harmony Grove 83, Fordyce 80 (OT)


FORDYCE — The Red Bugs recovered from a big first-quarter deficit but fell in overtime to the Hornets on Tuesday.


Harmony Grove (3-2 in 8-3A Conference) held quarter leads of 25-12, 37-31 and 53-51 before the teams went into OT at 72-72.


Jakeymas Gates led Fordyce (9-6, 3-3) with 21 points. Devonte Moore and Ariyon Sumler added 20 and 15 points, respectively.


GIRLS


Monticello 53, Warren 48


MONTICELLO — A quick start by the Lady Billies was a little too much for the Lady Jacks to overcome Tuesday.


Monticello (8-8, 3-6 in 8-4A) led 21-11 through one quarter and was still ahead by 10 points going into the fourth. Yasmine Franklin led the Lady Billies with 17 points and Deja Stanley added 13.


Warren (9-9, 4-5), which is tied with Hamburg for fourth place in the conference, was led by Shamiqua Pickett with 26 points.


Fordyce 62, Camden Harmony Grove 22


FORDYCE — The Lady Bugs held their opponent to 11 points or fewer in every quarter en route to the big win Tuesday night.


Fordyce held quarter leads of 14-3, 30-8 and 55-19.


Lacie Hulse led the Lady Bugs (18-7, 5-1 in 8-3A Conference) with 16 points. Alyssa English finished with 11 points, while Markeita Morris and Alex Little chipped in with eight points apiece.


Harmony Grove dropped to 1-4 in the conference.


McGehee 56, Smackover 19


McGEHEE — Niesha Henry scored as many points as Smackover (0-6 in 8-3A Conference) did on Tuesday night, and she wasn’t even McGehee’s leading scorer.


Henry finished with 19 points, while teammate Shakyla Begnaud scored 26 for the Lady Owls (10-7, 5-1).
