WHITE HALL — Tyler Brown and Randy Little smashed home runs during a four-run fifth inning that propelled Pine Bluff Western to a 4-2 victory over White Hall on Tuesday in the first game of the best-of-three Little League 11- and 12-year-old district series.

Game 2 will be played starting at 6 p.m. Thursday at White Hall City Park.


Brayson Smallwood gave White Hall the 2-0 lead in the second on a two-run home run that also scored Tristan Young.


Western did not have more than one runner on base until the fifth inning, when Brown’s two-run smash also scored Austin Weatherford. Little hit a solo shot and Brandon Thomas also scored.


Tink Hence earned the pitching win.
