Four days, three nights, no game.

Four days, three nights, no game.

That’s how long the Arkansas-Pine Bluff men’s basketball team was stuck in Dallas waiting to depart for Oregon to play Oregon State this past weekend. But icy weather kept the Golden Lions grounded, forcing a postponement of the game from its original Saturday date to Sunday to being indefinitely postponed.

That was until now.

UAPB coach George Ivory confirmed late Monday UAPB and Oregon State have agreed to square off in Corvallis, Ore., at 5 p.m. Pacific (7 p.m. Central) Friday. Pac-12 Networks will still carry the game live.

Otherwise, the Golden Lions (2-6) would have to wait until Dec. 17 to play their next game, when they visit All-American Doug McDermott and Creighton in Omaha, Neb. Friday will be 13 days since the Lions last played a game.

UAPB is on a six-game losing streak and has yet to defeat a Division I opponent this season. The Lions came close their last time out, losing 72-65 to Hampton in the Corpus Christi (Texas) Challenge on Nov. 30.

The Lions traveled to Dallas on Thursday to beat the icy weather a day ahead of time and make its scheduled flight to Portland. But the weather didn’t let up by Friday night, and the game was moved to 2 p.m. Central Sunday.

Then, it was pushed back 4 hours as the Lions were still stuck in Dallas before it was finally put on ice until Friday. UAPB returned home Sunday night, according to a team spokesman.
