The Arts & Letters Committee of the Pine Bluff Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will host a book signing and reading in honor of Tawana Denise Butler-Bailey from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. The event will be held at the Delta Life Development Center, 715 W. Barraque St.

Butler-Bailey was born and raised in Pine Bluff and graduated from Dollarway High School in 2002. She furthered her studies at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, where she received a bachelor of science in journalism in December 2006. She became a member of the Kappa Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. in 2004 and is currently a member of the Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter.


Butler-Bailey has been writing poetry since the seventh grade. Her passion for this art form lead to publishing her first piece entitled "Living Through Poetry: My Life" which was released October 1, 2014.
