An overcast sky and a cool fall breeze did not hinder the fun had by a group of little ones from First Presbyterian Church Day School at Pine Bluff and Cleveland County Head Start at Rison during a recent visit to the Pumpkin Patch, hosted by Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church, 3703 Ryburn Road.

Sounds of excitement were in the air as children — some with freshly painted faces — ran through a tunnel underneath a haystack to a pile of hay set aside specifically for them to toss into the air. The children also had the opportunity to play games, go on a hayride and choose their very own pumpkin.

The patch will be open through Oct. 31. Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to noon and 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

A visit to the patch will include food, pumpkins, hay rides and fun for the entire family. Those attending are encouraged to bring their cameras.

School groups are welcome by appointment for $5 per child, which includes a pumpkin, popcorn and a drink.

All proceeds will benefit local mission projects, including Neighbor to Neighbor. For more information, call the church at 870-879-3360.
