The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers will present their annual Holiday Foods Show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. The event will take place at the parish hall of St. Joseph Catholic Church, West Sixth Avenue and Laurel Street.
Debbie James and Marnette Reed are co-chairwomen of the Holiday Foods Show. Chairwomen of the various areas are: appetizers — Cathy Lewis; soups and salads — Margaret Thomas; side dishes — Delores Kelley; main dishes — Brenda Robinson; breads — Linda Works; beverages — Sarah Payton; and desserts — Kaye Richardson.
Jo Segars will be in charge of decorations. Sandy Smith is in charge of ticket sales. Bettye Johnson will be the greeter.
Cheri Aronowitz will collect the tickets at the door and Carolyn Harness will give the attendees their cookbook. Doris Turbeville and Donna McGowan will sell extra cookbooks.
Marynell Cardin and Vivian Gerlach are in charge of the kitchen. Tamieka Shelby will assist the elderly. Connie Herrin is in charge of the door prizes and Patsy Brown will assist Herrin in distributing them. Wanda Felts will give the blessing over the food. Nancy Rosen is the publicity chairman.
Door prizes will be given away throughout the show. Featured dishes will also be given away as door prizes. They are a hot bread appetizer prepared by Jo Ann Carr, a ham and cheese croissant prepared by Marnette Reed, and fudge prepared by Vivian Gerlach.
