On Thursday, Oct. 6, the Redfield Library will begin full-time service to area patrons and will be open an additional 12 hours each week, according to a press release from the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Library System.
The start of the new era will be observed with a grand opening at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Redfield Library. Altheimer Mayor Harmon Carter and Redfield’s District 10 Justice of the Peace Dr. Conley Byrd have accepted invitations to attend. The city council and all interested patrons are invited.
The library’s new hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Additional hours merit two additional computers: these computers are dedicated to the use of Redfield youth. Installation of the computers has been completed and they are on line and available for use. The addition to the library’s technology offerings is done with the intention of promoting and increasing computer skills.
LaNelle Roberts, president of the board of trustees of the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Library System, announced the additional technology and expanded hours.
The addition of Cathy Ackerman as full time branch manager made it possible to offer increased hours of service. MiCa Ackerman will continue to serve library patrons as she has in the past.
