A contractor hit a water main Friday at 42nd Avenue and Southern Pines Drive in Pine Bluff, causing a loss of water service to less than 20 people in the city. Liberty Utilities Director of Operations Ron Snider said the in incident occurred around 11:20 a.m.

“Our personnel had the leak isolated within 15 minutes,” Snider said. “System pressure has returned to normal. Once repairs are fully completed, the effected area will be flushed. It did not meet the guidelines for notification.”

Jefferson Regional Medical Center experienced low water pressure but did not lose water, Snider said. About 10 to 15 customers lost water for a period of time Friday. Customers do not need to boil water. Liberty Utilities expected to restore water service to those customers by 5 p.m. Friday, he said.
