Southeast Arkansas College will host an opioid addiction education program as part of Red Ribbon Week.

The college will host a viewing of “Chasing the Dragon” for students, faculty and staff at Lunch & Learn at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in McGeorge Hall-Seminar Room.

SEARK is partnering with the Little Rock Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Governor’s Education Team, and the Arkansas Department of Education to hold the event.

“Chasing the Dragon” is a documentary produced by the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration about the opioid epidemic across the United States, according to a news release.

The documentary features the true stories of people who have dealt with the opioid epidemic.

“The goal of the film is more than raising awareness on the opioid epidemic. It is intended to deter young adults from venturing into the drug culture, to help individuals understand opioid addiction and to demonstrate the strong grip it has on users,” according to the news release.
