THORNTON — The fall festival at Thornton will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in the Roy Yarbrough City Park on U.S. 79 B.


Everyone is invited to attend. Admission is free and participants are asked to bring their lawn chairs.


The city of Thornton and the Step By Step Organization of Thornton will sponsor this first fall festival.


There will be a variety of booths on display as well as live music, activities, games and prizes.


“The vision of the constituents of the consolidated efforts is to make this an annual event designed to promote the legacy and rich heritage of our city along with capitalizing on future growth and expansion,” a spokesman said in a news release.


Step By Step is an organization that focuses on community improvement and enhancing the quality of life for citizens, according to the spokesman.
