First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucette Road at Pine Bluff, invites the community to its fall harvest fest/health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

Highlights will include information on cancer awareness; screenings for blood pressure checks, blood glucose and cholesterol; and information from Jefferson County Health Department representatives on teen pregnancy, sexual transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV. Flu shots will also be available.

The Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department will present information on smoke detectors and the Pine Bluff Police Department will provide safety tips.

The event will also feature activities such as face painting and games for children. A soul-winning salvation table will also be set up.

“Won’t you please, please join us for a day filled with tasty food and spiritual information for the church, family and community at large,” a spokesman said in a news release.

The theme is: Building Better Communities thru Better Health. The organizers have partnered with community agencies to unite the church and the community.
