Get Youth Outdoors Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the pond at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 1140 Oakland Park Drive.

The event is free and open to the public. Activities will include fishing, air rifle, archery, and conservation activities. A free lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.

In cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance and Arkansas AFL-CIO will host the session to introduce youth to the outdoors and conservation, according to a news release.

USA volunteers from the Arkansas AFL-CIO will donate their time to provide the event for more than 500 youth in the Pine Bluff area. The first 250 youth, ages 15 and under, will receive a fishing free rod and reel from Pure Fishing. Children 15 and under don’t need a fishing license but all must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or chaperone.
