LAKE VILLAGE — Guachoya Cultural Art Center at Lake Village will host the opening reception of the John Keen photography exhibit from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The Keen exhibit will be open November and December. Keen is a professional photographer and a native Mississippian who has spent most of his life in the Mississippi Delta.

He and his wife, Sharon “Sam,” have owned John Keen Photography in Greenville since 1980. He and his wife have been married for 41 years and have two married sons and three granddaughters.

Keen is a U.S. Navy veteran and served as a photographer during the Vietnam War. He is a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta and a life member of Professional Photographers of America. A part-time musician, he plays in several groups including Lillo’s Thursday Night Band.

Over the years, much of Keen’s work has consisted of portraits, weddings, special events and commercial photography. His images have appeared in numerous magazines, trade journals and on record and CD covers. To see some of his favorite images, visit
