Kimberly Oliver of Stuttgart is the 2018 recipient of the Katherine E. Franzen Memorial Scholarship at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro.
Oliver is an animal science major. The Franzen family selects the award winner each spring semester.
“Oliver’s major has an emphasis in production management and she is minoring in agricultural business,” according to a news release.
A sophomore, she has a 4.0 grade point average and has been on the Chancellor’s List each semester since enrolling at ASU, according to the release.
Oliver is a member of the A-State Animal Science Club, National Society of Leadership and Success and Delta Tau Alpha. She has worked as a volunteer at the Bill & Alice Nix Petting Zoo and is a member of the A-State Equine Club.
Scholarship recipients must be from Arkansas County and a full-time student at ASU majoring in an agriculture-related field. The Franzen scholarship is privately funded, established in 1992 by Tom W. Franzen, to honor his grandmother from Stuttgart.
