Applications for the Gerald and Sue Majors Endowed Scholarship will be available Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Star City High School counselor’s office.

The scholarship for graduates of Star City High School was created by Gerald and Sue Majors of White Hall.

There are currently four University of Arkansas at Monticello students receiving the Majors scholarship. The application deadline for the fall 2018 term is April 1.

The recipient must be a first-time freshman with a high school grade point average of at least 3.5, possess a strong work ethic, good personality traits, and demonstrate excellent professional potential.

The scholarship pays toward the cost of tuition and on-campus room and board. It is renewable for a total of eight semesters. The first Majors scholarship was awarded in 2005.
