The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will host Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week March 26-30.
The university has 645 full-time employees who work in various positions. The purpose of this appreciation week is to acknowledge the combined efforts of all employees on the entire campus, according to a news release.
“The true greatness of an institution can be measured in the quality of the work product of its inhabitants,” said Chancellor Laurence B. Alexander. “Our faculty and staff continue to distinguish this university as a place where student success remains our highest priority.”
Alexander began faculty and staff appreciation initiatives during the Fall Faculty/Staff Seminar. Chancellor’s Awards are presented to faculty and staff in several categories including, research, teaching, global engagement, and customer service.
Also, during the seminar, employees with at least 20 years of service are recognized for their commitment to the institution. While faculty and staff are acknowledged throughout the year, this is the first time the university is sponsoring a full week of scheduled activities, according to the release.
