Pine Bluff police say a 15-year-old male is being treated at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock after he was shot Sunday night.

According to a Police Department news release, at about 8:50 p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to 26th and Indiana for a report of gunshots in the area.

One of the responding officers stopped a car with emergency flashers on leaving that area. The driver, 28-year-old Patrick Lambert, immediately stopped and informed the officers that one of the passengers had been shot, according to the news release.

Lambert said he stopped at the stop sign at 26th and Indiana when a grey car stopped in front of his vehicle and began shooting. There is no known motive for the shooting at this time.

The victim, a 15-year-old male, was not named in the release.

"He had a single gunshot wound to the head. His name will not be released due to age. EASI ambulance arrived and transported the male to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was stabilized then transported by ambulance to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for further treatment. His condition is unknown at this time. Another female in the car was struck by debris. Her injury was minor," the news release said.
