Hope Women’s Resource Center, 3905 S. Hazel St., celebrated the opening of its new location with an open house April 21. The center was previously located on Sixth Avenue.
During the open house, community churches, local business owners, donors and volunteers toured the facility and offered congratulations, according to a news release.
“The Hope Women’s Resource Center is a faith-based ministry offering free pregnancy tests, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, and parenting and prenatal education courses,” according to the release.
The new location, an 8,000 square foot building, was purchased last year and renovations began in October 2017. The majority of construction was completed by January 2018 when the center began seeing clients there.
“The building is located in the Jefferson Regional Medical Center area and offers the center more accessibility and visibility in the community,” according to the release.
Debra Burchfield is executive director of the Hope Women’s Resource Center.
“We want to thank our wonderful donors and our church and business partners,” Burchfield said. “Their prayers, contributions and countless volunteer hours made this move possible.”
Last year, the center served more than 1,000 women from the Pine Bluff area. According to Burchfield, with the larger space and more accessibility for clients, the center hopes to add additional services and extend its office hours in future.
In addition to South Hazel street office, the center has a mobile unit that serves DeWitt, Dumas, Star City, and Stuttgart. Details: www.supporthope.org .
