The 2018 Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival begins this week at Warren. The festival is held annually on the second weekend in June and is the oldest continuously running festival in the state, according to a news release.

Most of the activities will take place Friday and Saturday, June 8-9 with events planned for all ages.

Special entertainment for the Pink Tomato Festival will include: Fortunate Sons + One on Friday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Bellamy Brothers at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, June 9, Taryn & Jace will take the stage at 7 p.m., followed by headliner, Mark Chesnutt, at 9 p.m.

There will be the talent show, gospel jamboree and the Baggo Tournament early in festival week along with the giant carnival beginning on Thursday, June 7.

Friday and Saturday, June 8-June 9, will feature arts and crafts, quilt show, Dig for Treasure, turtle races, Tomato Packing contest, Tomato Eating contest, Cutest Baby, Salsa contest, special music by Jubilation Jazz and the Cummins Prison Band along with many other activities.

Saturday at 7 a.m., festival events will begin with the 5K Walk and Run followed by the Pink Tomato Festival Parade at 10 a.m. The Pink Tomato Festival Steak Cookoff, sponsored by Walmart, will begin at 11 a.m. on Main Street. The All Tomato Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. will be followed by the Little Miss Pink Tomato contest at 2:30 p.m.

Events and music will be featured on the court square all day Friday and Saturday. A giant fireworks display will end the festival.
